Is there a password required to join the commencement event on zoom?

No, there is no password for the event.

How do I join the commencement event using a phone call?

  1. Dial the phone number provided in the Zoom invitation. The number should be formatted like this: +[country code][phone number].
  2. When prompted, enter the meeting ID followed by the pound (#) key. The meeting ID is a 9, 10, or 11-digit number that identifies the specific meeting you’re trying to join. You can find the meeting ID in the Zoom invitation.
  3. If you’re prompted for a participant ID, simply press the pound (#) key again. This is only necessary if you’re joining the meeting as a co-host or alternative host.
  4. You will then be prompted to enter the meeting password followed by the pound or hash (#) key. If there is no password, simply press the pound or hash (#) key to skip this step.
  5. You will then be connected to the Zoom meeting via phone call.

How do I access the accessibility features for the commencement event?

  1. Once you’ve joined the webinar, click on the “Closed Caption” button located at the bottom of the Zoom window.
  2. Select “Enable Auto-Transcription” from the drop-down menu to turn on automatic closed captioning. This will allow you to see the live captions in real-time as the speakers speak.
  3. You can also click “View Full Transcript” to see a full transcript of the closed captions.
  4. You can also adjust the settings on your device to enhance the accessibility of the webinar. This may include increasing the font size, using a high-contrast display, or adjusting the audio settings to enhance the clarity of the sound.

My video is lagging for the commencement webinar. What should I do? How can I improve my internet connection for the event?

  1. Check your internet connection: A slow or unstable internet connection can cause lagging in Zoom. Make sure you have a stable and fast internet connection by running a speed test. If your internet speed is slow, try connecting to a different network or restarting your router.
  2. Close other applications: Other applications running on your device can consume system resources and cause Zoom to lag. Close any unnecessary applications and try running Zoom again.
  3. Lower video quality: If you’re experiencing lagging during a video call, try lowering the video quality. To do this, click on the “Video” icon in the Zoom window and select “Video Settings”. Then, adjust the video quality to a lower resolution.

Keep in mind that these are the minimum requirements for attending a Zoom webinar. If you have a slower internet connection or an older computer, you may experience slower performance or poor video and audio quality. It’s recommended that you have a stable internet connection with a minimum of 10 Mbps for the best experience.

The commencement webinar is full. How will I view the event?

In the unlikely event that the commencement is full, please try joining the event at a later time as some people might be watching only part of the commencement. The event will also be recorded. If you are unable to watch the event live, wait for the recording to be posted and shared via email or social media. Also consider connecting with others attending the event and watching the commencement together. By exploring these options, you can still view the commencement event even if it is full.
